we who
live
share
the same sky
moved by
its beauty
often
to sigh
at times
like this
we look up
to ask why
seeking answers
in the clouds
that we see
passing by
in our
saddest hour
there is solace
in their power
as they move
along the sun
or a days
pending shower
today
we honor
those whom
we mourn
the blessings
of their impact
the day
they were born
this grandeur
can protect us
during times
that we grieve
it can show us
that our
dear ones
never really leave
they are
in the stars
the air
that we breathe
in our laughter
and kindness
a bitter-
sweet weave
Jews gather
and pray
don’t eat
for a day
repent
remember
begin
a new way
I speak not
from religion
but my own
window view
of what
I’ve learned
and know
to be true
love can
bend
so that there
is no end
this is
the message
I am here
to send
in the
daily strive
to find
a new norm
sometimes a storm
can churn
a rainbow
into human form.
